Changing the way teachers instruct is the challenging part. When we visited our FA teachers a few weeks into our pilot we noticed that most teachers were only substituting technology in their classrooms. The integration of technology into the curriculum takes time. Instructional coaches first need to be trained on how to integrate technology before they can assist their teachers move from substitution to redefinition. (SAMR model) Once your instructional coaches are proficient in technology integration, guided PD needs to be offered. Be patient, this process takes time and requires continuous direction. Every time a teacher is helped with the components of the 1:1, technology integration needs to be included in the conversation.
