PowToon: LITT

Standard: TL-I Technology Operations and Concepts.TL-III.A. 5 Design methods and model strategies for teaching concepts and skills that support use of media-based tools such as television, audio, print media, and graphics. TL-VII. A Use the school technology facilities and resources to implement classroom instruction.

Assignment: The presentation below was the created to summarize what we had learned in the course. My project was a Lead Instructional Technology Teacher position for my school district.

Reflection: Being a classroom teacher while I was taking this course, I was overwhelmed with all the steps it took to successfully implement a project. This was definitely one of my favorite courses in the program. My systematic brain liked the processes that go into project management. I used a hypothetical scenario for my project not knowing at the time that I would be applying these skills to present this project to my school district’s leadership in my new role as Director of Instructional Technology. We will be implementing the LITT position (now called the ITCT (Instructional Technology Contact Teacher) during the 2014-2015 school year. Now in a district administration position, I can see why many projects are not implemented well in school districts.  School districts need to hire good project managers to ensure that instructional projects and programs are successful.
